SE EN 10059
Square steel bars are used on a wide scale in the industry and everyday life, due to its' specific characteristics and utility. Using them as semifabricates results in numerous situation in a shortening of production times and costs (for examle in the production of screws).
The angles of the section must be perpendicular. The bars must be straight without bends or strains of the axis; the deviation from rectilinearity should not surpass 0,25-0,4 % of the bar length. In the section the sides must be perpendicular, a deviation of maximum 3% of the thickness of the bar from the perpendicularity of the section is admitted. The bars must be cut without the bending of the endings and without the strain of the section. The burrs resulting from the cutting must not surpass 8 mm.
A torsion of the section around its axis of more than 3-4˚ per meter and 15-24˚ on the total length of the bar is not admitted.
Square steel bars are delivered in rolled state, in pieces or bundles between 300-3000 kg, with lengths of 3-6m.
